At Ourisman Chevrolet, we want to help you pick a great Chevy Silverado. If you're interested in finding a Chevy Silverado for sale with the specifications you need, look no further than our dealership. We have seen thousands of Silverados move through our showroom and even more happy buyers. The Silverado has been at the cornerstone of American work since the 1960's and remains an iconic and popular choice to this day with buyers of all sorts. You don't need to be a farmer or work on a construction site to get optimal value from a Silverado; many of our customers are looking to enable their camping adventures, make their small business more successful, or tow a trailer with their ATVs or other equipment. The possibilities are endless with this truck, and it's been built with varying levels of power and efficiency levels to meet the needs of a wide range of drivers. Whether you choose a Silverado 1500, more suitable for personal use, or a 3500 for the hardest of hard-core jobs, we know you'll be wowed by the Silverado's vast array of features and can-do performance.

The Silverado (1500, 2500, and 3500)

The Chevy Silverado was first introduced to the market as a stand-alone vehicle in 1999. For decades before that, however, it reigned supreme under the model name C/K. The Chevy C/K hit the market in 1960 and was produced for both Chevrolet and General Motors. The first generation of the C/Ks rode low to the ground and didn't require any of the "climbing" we associate with getting into a modern truck these days. Since being reintroduced to the market by the model name Silverado, this full-size pickup truck has grown in size, power, capability, and status in the industry.

Chevy Silverado 1500

There are three levels of Chevy Silverado to choose from. You're probably used to seeing the badges labeling the Chevy Silverados you pass in public as either 1500, 2500, or 3500. These different ranges connotate with their designed usage. For the 1500, for example, the target owner is an individual who mainly needs a truck for personal use. This means things like light DIY projects, towing smaller trailers with personal equipment, and hauling loads when moving or working in the garden. The 1500 is known as a light-duty pickup truck and has had a variety of engine options over the years. These include V6s, V8s, turbocharged four-cylinders, and even diesel options with more power. There has always been a tradeoff for power. The downside of more power in the 1500 has traditionally been lower fuel efficiency. It's been up to the individual to weigh the pros and cons of their engine choice when deciding how powerful an engine to invest in.

Chevy Silverado 2500

The Chevy Silverado 2500 takes the 1500's everyday light-use design and magnifies it for heavier tasks. This is an HD (heavy duty) truck, and it's built heavier and bigger than the 1500. It's more suited to heavier construction work, towing heavier trailers, and being put to the test in heavy commercial settings. Many drivers who own their own businesses in construction and landscaping use a 2500 for professional day-to-day labor. And while it is more than capable of being used for recreational towing, the Chevy 2500 is ready to move some serious weight with its larger V8 and diesel engine options. All around, the 2500 has been designed to handle heavier jobs than the 1500.

Chevy Silverado 3500

If the 2500 isn't powerful enough for you, the Chevy 3500 is waiting to flex its muscles. This is the beefiest version of the Silverado. If you run a business with massive hauling and towing needs, this is the right truck for you. It is ideal for commercial usage like heavy construction and will serve you well towing large camper vans and RVs. The 3500 has the largest towing and payload ratings of any version of the Silverado. Definitely check it out.

Cab and Bed Options

The Chevy Silverado is a highly customizable full-size pickup truck. Depending on the combination of trim level, model year, and level (1500, 2500, 3500), you'll be able to pick from a range of options. These include a regular cab, a small two-door and passenger configuration, a double cab with four doors and room for additional passengers, or the biggest cab option-a crew cab that fits five or even six passengers comfortably.

There are also three different bed sizes and lengths to choose for the Silverado. You'll be able to opt for a short bed that is only about 5'8", a standard bed which is 6'6", and the bed with the most square feet, the long bed measuring in at 8'. When picking the bed that's right for you, remember to think about where you'll be driving, parking availability, and the volume of payload you're likely to move most often.
